Aired on January 8, 1989 , Poirot is a tv show which was bring Agatha Christie 's Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, to life, whose sleuthing, for the purposes of this series, belongs chiefly in the 1930s as her first creation. The series has strong story lines, good production and acting, and a real period flavor. Accompanied by his sidekick, Captain Hastings as his Dr. Watson, the ranges of their operation is around the world. Having decided to set the show in the 1930s, Granada gave it an Art Deco theme, while the scripts preserve a lot of Agatha's witty original dialogue - and add to it in an authentic tone.
